Putin will visit aerospace show MAKS

MOSCOW (TASS): During his visit to the MAKS-2021 aerospace show, President Vladimir Putin is expected to traditionally watch flights, but it is difficult to say whether he will get acquainted with a fundamentally new military aircraft, Press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov told reporters about this on Thursday.

“I just don’t know what kind of presentation it will be [of the new aircraft], so I cannot say yet,” the spokesman replied when asked if Putin will be shown the new military aircraft reported in Rostec at the air show.

“I don’t know the program exactly yet,” said Peskov. He noted that the President traditionally watches MAKS flights. “I think it will be so this time too,” the Kremlin spokesman added.

As Rostec reported earlier, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) will present a fundamentally new military aircraft on the first day of the International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky.

The state corporation also created the official website of the project, where the countdown began at midnight until the premiere of the aircraft – July 20.

Earlier it was reported that Russia has begun work on the creation of a new platform for operational-tactical aviation, on the basis of which it is planned to develop a light fighter.

At the end of 2019, MiG placed on the public procurement portal an order for “aerodynamic calculation of a light multifunctional front-line twin-engine aircraft”, the implementation of which is scheduled for 2020-2025.

This year, the Intern-ational Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) will be held from 20 to 25 July in Zh-ukovsky, Moscow Region.
