“This morning, a group of veteran pilots and pensioners staged a demonstration in front of the parliament building. The demonstrators complained that their pensions are being paid late,” the agency said in a statement.
Delays in the payment of pensions and salaries to the Iranian population are caused by the difficult financial situation due to US sanctions on oil exports, as well as corruption at all levels of government in the country. In addition, there is an increase in the money supply in Iran, which has led to an increase in inflation and prices.
The salaries and pensions of citizens remain the same, according to the indicators of a number of state-owned media, they are even decreasing.
The financial situation of the population has also deteriorated due to the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of COVID-19.
