Indian FM assessed relations with Russia

MOSCOW (Agencies): Relations between India and Russia have become one of the most stable in the world since World War II, said Indian Foreign Minister Subramanian Jaishankar during a speech at IMEMO RAN .

“There is no doubt that relations between Russia and India have become one of the most stable among the relations of large countries of the world after World War II,” the diplomat said.

However, as noted by Jaishankar, this stability is often taken for granted, although it needs to be further developed.

“I believe that the basis of our modern relations is the acceptance of multipolarity as a reality and aspiration,” the minister added. It was this awareness that allowed our countries to easily maintain relations in comparison with other states, Jaishankar explained.

Indian Foreign Minister arrived in Moscow on Thursday. He is expected to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and hold a conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov. During his contacts in Moscow, the Indian Foreign Minister will also discuss regional and international issues.
