Turkey: Our brothers in Kazakhstan will overcome all challenges

ANKARA (AA): We believe that our brothers in Kazakhstan, with their own strength and capabilities, will overcome all the challenges facing the country. This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar in an interview with reporters in Ankara.
According to him, Ankara is closely following the latest events in Kazakhstan.
“Kazakhstan is an important ally of Turkey, and we hope for the earliest possible stabilization of the situation and ensuring law and order in this country. If Kazakhstan makes any request to Ankara, we will be ready to provide it in full. Turkey has been and will be next to Kazakhstan! ”He said.
The Turkish Defense Minister further drew attention to the successful steps to combat terrorist organizations in the region.
Akar said that in the period from July 24, 2015 to the present day, the Turkish Armed Forces have eliminated 33,275 terrorists in the region, including in northern Syria. The number of militants neutralized as part of the operations of the Turkish army after January 1, 2021 is 2 795.
According to him, the Turkish military is currently deployed in 395 points, some of which are characterized by difficult terrain and natural conditions parameters.
The head of the defense department stressed that Turkey has not put forward and is not putting forward territorial claims to any neighboring country. “Ankara respects the borders and sovereignty of all states, including Syria and Iraq,” the Turkish minister said.
Akar recalled that thanks to the efforts of the Turkish army, about a million refugees have already returned to Syria of their own free will, 470 thousand of whom settled in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
The Turkish minister noted that the Russian Aerospace Forces periodically strike the northwest of Syria. “Recently, the water supply system was bombed, which seriously worsened the living conditions of the people of Idlib. People are already in a very difficult situation. The position of the Turkish side is communicated to the Russian colleagues. At the same time, it should be recognized that after the conversation between Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Vladimir Putin on September 30, the number of ceasefire violations has significantly decreased. We hope that all parties will remain in their positions until the adoption of the new constitution of Syria and the holding of elections in this country, ”Akar said.
He stressed that Ankara expects Moscow and Washington to fulfill the obligations assumed under the agreements on Syria. Turkey is in favor of a long-term ceasefire in Syria, the minister added.
Referring to the destructive steps of Greece, whipping up tension in the region, Hulusi Akar noted that Greece has recently been striving to conclude allied agreements with a number of NATO member states. “Athens is taking steps that go far beyond the capabilities of this country. Alliances within the alliance [NATO] will weaken the Alliance, ”he stressed.
Referring to the situation in the South Caucasus, Hulusi Akar stated that Turkey will continue to support the fair position of brotherly Azerbaijan.
“Our goal in the South Caucasus is long-term peace and stability. The presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan extended a hand of peace to Armenia. We hope that this gesture will be duly appreciated in Yerevan. This is a question that concerns not only Azerbaijan or Armenia, but the region as a whole. The South Caucasus should turn into an island of stability, ”the minister said.
He recalled that a joint Turkish-Russian monitoring center has been operating in Azerbaijan since January 30. “We approach the issue positively. The number of ceasefire violations is on the decline. We hope for an even greater level of stability. The joint steps of Turkey and Russia contribute to the world and the long-term ceasefire,” the minister said.
