MOSCOW (RIA Novosti): The Taliban movement that came to power in Afghanistan is going to create a special commission to revise the country’s constitution, a spokesman for the movement Suheil Shahin told RIA Novosti.
“A special commission will be created for this (rev-ision of the constitution – ed.), But there are no da-tes on this yet,” Shahin said.
Earlier, Taliban spokes-man Zabiullah Mujahid said that the Afghan constitution would either be rewritten or amended as soon as the system of government was approved. The Taliban insist that the country’s future main law stipulates that Afghanistan is an Islamic state.
Afghanistan considers the visits of the new Foreign Minister of the Taliban-appointed government Amir Khan Mutaki to Russia, China and Iran necessary, but these plans should be worked out jointly with these countries, a representative of the political office of the movement Suheil said.
“I consider it necessary to visit these countries and maintain political relations with them, but this will be decided in the course of bilateral communication with these countries. The visits are planned, but when they should take place, they will have to be decided at the bilateral level, the countries at the bilateral level should discuss this visit”, – said Shahin.
Speaking about the possibility of changing the staff of Afghan foreign missions, he noted that changes will be made if necessary, depending on the decisions of the new leadership of the Foreign Ministry.
Afghanistan will independently manage the airport in Kabul, a spokesman for the Taliban political office Suhel added.
“It is a matter of the future (the decision on the management of the Kabul airport – ed.), Whether we will cooperate with other countries or not on this issue. Perhaps our people will cope with these issues,” he said.
Shahin said that Qatar and Turkey are involved in recovery work at the airport where domestic flights have resumed, but little work remains to be done to reopen international flights, as almost everything in the air harbor has been damaged after the departure of foreign military personnel who destroyed radars and other equipment.
Afghanistan wants to resume air traffic with Russia and Turkey, a representative of the political office of the movement Suheil Shahin told RIA Novosti.
“Yes, we want flights to resume with both countries. I do not know the details of the date of the resumption, but we want these flights to begin,” Shahin said.
He found it difficult to answer the question whet-her the Taliban are waiting for the sending of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan from Russia and Turkey.
