Russian jets perform patrols in the airspace of Belarus

MOSCOW (TASS): Two long-range Tu-22M3 bom-bers of the Russian Aeros-pace Forces performed patrols in the airspace of Belarus and returned to the airfield based on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported on Saturday by the RF Ministry of Defense.
“Two Tu-22M3 long-ra-nge bombers of the Aero-space Forces patrolled the airspace of the Republic of Belarus. During the flight of long-range aircraft, issues were worked out on solving joint tasks with aviation and air defense forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus,” the statement says.
The department noted that the duration of the flight of the aircraft was about four hours.
Earlier on Saturday, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that the strategic bombers Tu-22M3 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, accompanied by a mixed tactical group of multifunctional fighters SU-30SM of Belarus and Russia, conducted a joint patrol of the air borders of the Union State. “Joint patrolling of the air borders of the Union State. The Ministry of Defense then clarified that in recent years the total number of flights has almost doubled, and the number of aircraft involved in the US Air Force has increased by 1.5 times.
