VERKHNAYA PYSHMA (TASS): The Pakistani government is interested in the modernization of rolling stock and equipment for railways, including the use of Russian equipment. This was announced to reporters on Thursday by Pakistani Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan during his visit to the Ural Locomotives plant.
“On behalf of the Pakistani government, I would like to say that we are interested in modernizing our rolling stock and equipment for railways. And here, at this enterprise, which produces such equipment for rolling stock, we see that it meets the best world practices and the best quality, ”he said.
As the President of the Sinara Group Dmitry Pumpyansky noted, the company also hopes for cooperation with Pakistan, including in the supply of electric trains. The export of such trains is also being discussed with other countries, in particular with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Ural Locomotives (Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region) specializes in the design, production and maintenance of new generation rolling stock. The plant serially produces Sinara (2ES6) DC mainline electric locomotives with a collector traction drive, Granit (2ES10) DC mainline electric locomotives with an asynchronous traction drive and Lastochka high-speed electric trains of various modifications, as well as an AC mainline electric locomotive of the series 2ES7.
LLC Uralskie Lokomotivy is a joint venture between the Sinara Group and Siemens AG, established in 2010 with the aim of partnership in the field of railway engineering.
