NUR-SULTAN (RIA Novosti): Russian and Indian Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Subramaniyam Jaishankar discussed the situation in Afghanistan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
According to the statement, a brief meeting of the two ministers took place on October 12 in Nur-Sultan “on the sidelines” of talks between the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the countries participating in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
“Topical issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as international and regional problems, including the situation in Afghanistan and the Asia-Pacific region, were discussed. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the SCO and in the RIC format, ” the message says.
In addition, the parties reaffirmed their mutual disposition to further intensify Russian-Indian contacts at all levels.
Earlier in his address to the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia said that after leaving Afghanistan, NATO is seeking to redeploy its forces to Asia and send flows of Afghan refugees to the region.

According to the head of the department, NATO bypasses the issue of responsibility for the consequences of its twenty-year-old experiments.
“The international community, especially the neighbors of Afghanistan, is invited to deal with the problems,” Lavrov added.
