Blinken, Latvian PM discuss regional security

F.P. Report

WASHINGTON: Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins in Riga. Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Karins discussed regional security, including the importance of NATO to Transatlantic security, as well as how the United States and Latvia can work together to address the humanitarian crisis caused by the orchestration of irregular migrant flows into the EU by the regime in Belarus. They also discussed ways to deepen the U.S.-Latvian partnership, including our economic ties.

The Secretary commended the Prime Minister and the Latvian government for the progress achieved with the Holocaust restitution legislation, whose passage would mark an important measure of justice for victims and their families.
