TEL AVIV (TASS): Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will visit India in early April, where he will meet with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. This was announced on Sunday by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of the Jewish state.
“On April 2, Prime Minister Bennett will make his first official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Modi. The visit is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations between Israel and India,” the statement said. The Foreign Ministry noted that the purpose of the visit is “to promote and strengthen the strategic alliance between the two countries, to expand bilateral ties.” “The leaders will also discuss strengthening cooperation in the fields of innovation, economics, research and development, agriculture, and other areas,” the press service added.
“I [would] be happy to make my first official visit to India at the invitation of my friend, Prime Minister Modi, to continue moving forward together on a common path in interstate relations,” Israeli prime minister said, commenting on the upcoming trip. “There is a new energy in the relationship between India and Israel, and this is of historic significance. Together we will expand our cooperation into new areas: from innovation and technology through security and cyber development to agriculture and climate,” Bennett’s office said.
