BEIJING (RIA Novosti): The principles of Russia-China relations are being misinterpreted, resulting in absurd attempts to blame China for the Ukraine crisis, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said on Friday.
Le Yucheng said that completely absurd judgments have recently arisen around the Ukrainian crisis, as a result of which attacks are also carried out on China. “For example, (expression – ed.) that “friendship between Russia and China has no limits, and cooperation has no forbidden zones” is interpreted as the fact that China “was aware in advance” and “approved” of Russia’s special military operation on Ukraine. Such an attempt to put the blame on China is absurd,” Le Yucheng said during an online dialogue of global think tanks from 20 countries.
China is neither a party nor an initiator of this situation, “why should it be responsible for the conflict between Russia and Ukraine?”
“Relations between China and Russia are based on the principles of non-alignment with blocs and the absence of confrontation, they are not aimed at third parties, and the expression of boundless friendship and the absence of no-go zones for cooperation reflects the reality and prospects of Chinese-Russian relations,” the deputy minister stressed.
